FILM REVIEW

Full of wity dialogue and colourful, original characters that is more than just what you witness on screen. It makes you think. Kevin Smiths criticism of his own faith makes one exame there own, religous or otherwise. Marking the Return of Jersey Trilogy mainstays,Jay and his hetero-lifemate Silent bob Dogma will be more than a treat for fans of Kevins previous films. Even if your just a fan of good film,Kevins lastest work is sure to please even the most close minded synical. Criticising the negative effects of corporate influence (represented by "Mooby The Golden Cow") and the close minded views of those who set the rules of the modern clergy (Stating that "Jesus was black", and pointing out a man who disowned his gay son as a sinner). All along with what seems be the primary message that we all take religion and/or our beleifs to serious for our own good. Kevin gets his points across in a great comic romp. Taking us from Wisconsin to Red Bank New Jersey to the Apocolypse and back.

SCREENING REVIEW

Matt and I were lucky and able to score tickets to DOGMA at the Toronto Film Festival. First off the event was crazy and mass number of people at the screening amazed me. I've gone to a couple other films at the festival and they were nothing like this. I arrived an hour and a half early and was almost near the end of the line people were scalping and buying for this event like a baseball game or an overpriced concert. One lady even offered us $40 for either of our tickets. Underterred by the offers I was not gonna miss the new film by one of Idles. Seeing clerks after stumbling across it at a video store convinced to delve into the art of film and fuck no $40 is gonna make me miss this. We get into the theatre with people who did not bother to line up that are like more then twice our age trying to get in at the front we had the joy of yelling "STEP BACK/BACK UP" at them in a joking manner. Upon entering the theatre we were stupid and got food before finding a seat and entered with a theatre close to full or all the good seats taken by some as in a suit who claimed these 4 seats to be theres. We eventually found a seat front row to the right which was okay cause the screen was well back. Kevin and some of the Cast were introduced, all being the Cool people, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, and Scott Mosier (producer, snowball). The other bigger names not in attendance. After a few comments from Kevin the film finally began to roll.

After the screening Matt ran up to meet Jason Lee and asked him if he still skates. He siad not as much. Even though he wished he said. "That was Renyolds". Shortly after some guy was yelling at Kevin claiming he ripped off the comic book Preacher. I had the joy of yelling at that guy as loud as I could LOOSER at him forand giving him the finger. Even though it makes me just as much as a looser. It was fun.
