The Ultimate Chasing Amy Reality Tour

Okay. Anyone who took the Stash Gala tour knows that we did not stop at all the sites from Chasing Amy. So, if you ever want to make the trip down to Red Bank, you’re going to need to know exactly where filming took place for the flick. Here it is. The ultimate Chasing Amy reality tour. What follows is all the filming spots for the movie, as printed in the April 8th, 1997 edition of the Asbury Park Press.

Jack’s Music Shoppe and nearby apartment, 30 Broad Street, Red Bank
Hooper and Holden banter about sexual preferences at the store, and the front entrance right there was used as the door to Banky and Holden’s apartment. This is where they talked about "Catholic school girls." Oh yeah, and the brand new Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash is right across the street.

Victory Park, River Road, Rumson
Alyssa and Holden begin falling in love on the park’s swings. The Oceanic Fire House and Oceanic Bridge are in the background.

The Galleria, Bridge Avenue, Red Bank
Holden bids Banky bye-bye at this train station set. An earlier shot of the actual train station is featured, too.

The Marina Diner, Route 36 and Seeley Street, Belford, Middleton Township
Silent Bob speaks! Jay and Holden listen as Bob opens up about his past love life with a chick from Canada. Here’s a warning though. The folks at the diner don’t really like Askewers, so watch out.

Berkeley Cateret Hotel, Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park
Site of the comic convention

Side Street, Mechanic Street, Red Bank
Alyssa and Holden fight in the rain.

"Red Bank, New Jersey." Wide shot of Broad Street, Red Bank
Where Holden and Banky live. You can see Prown’s department store in the background.

Take A Shot Billiards Club, House of Coffee, Bridge Avenue, Red Bank
Background shots.

Keansburg Boardwalk
Holden and Alyssa play skeeball. Incidentally, this is also the site used for the first scene of the upcoming flick, Dogma.

Red Bank Catholic High School, Broad Street, Red Bank
"As it stands, I have no ‘…and then she unzipped her jumper…’ stories" -Banky

Ocean Ice Palace, 197 Chambersridge Rd., Brick Township
Holden confronts Alyssa about her past outside the rink.

Quick Stop, 58 Leonard Ave., Leonardo, Middletown Township
Cohee Lundin spills the beans on Alyssa’s sordid past outside the store we all know and love. "Fingercuffs." How does one come up with that?

So there you have it. The "Ultimate Chasing Amy Reality Tour." Don’t forget to stop in at Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash (directly across the street from Jack’s Music Shoppe) when you make the tour.
