- MTV.com has a very positive blurb on Zack and Miri in this article on upcoming “raunchy†comedies :
“Zack and Miri Make a Pornoâ€: For years, Kevin Smith has made raunchy movies for his small, niche audience. Now, those sorts of films are opening with $30 million weekends. Could the time finally be right for this Jersey-born master of dialogue to hit the mainstream? Rumor has it that Smith’s twisted “Porno†script is one of the best to ever emerge from his nicotine-fueled imagination, and the timing for a sex-tape comedy couldn’t seem any more appropriate. Smith is currently lining up his cast and will begin shooting soon.
- And finally today, Kevin shares his opinion on the recent prom. From the sound of it, we might be seeing another event just like this one again! Maybe for you west coasters next time? Here’s the man:
Sorry it’s taken so long to get my thoughts out there on the subject at hand.
I was dreading the Prom for awhile, because I’m not a drinker, and I haven’t danced in twelve years.
That night, I drank and danced.
With booze, anything is possible, I guess.
I had a blast. I agree with many of you: this may have been our best event we’ve ever thrown. It was nice to not be on a stage for a change, and instead, be on the floor with everyone else. While it was my birthday party, I never felt like I was the focus; and that was lovely.
Also, it felt like there wasn’t a lick of negativity in the room. Everyone, it seemed, was groovin’ as a collective whole. I dug that.
And ya’ll looked nice, too.
Many thanks to those who put it together (Jen, Ming, Gail).
Many thanks to all who brought gifts (while it wasn’t necessary, it was very thoughtful).
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to that Saturn-Kitty-covered book (I was truly touched).
Many thanks to those who helped put the decorations together (I’m sorry you were put to work on your vacation, but it was very sweet of you to pitch in).
Many thanks to anyone who was out on the dance floor for “Rock the Bells†(I felt like a teenager again).
We may not have had an elephant, but I never dreamed ringing in my 37th year would’ve been so fun.
Sounds like those of you on the fence won’t want to miss the next chance to attend a View Askew prom! We’ll of course let you know if this becomes an annual event.
