- Here’s a bit more press on the scheudled Jay Mewes appearance at the Eerie Horror Film Festival, scheduled for October 10-14 in Erie, PA. He’ll be there to support his latesthorror/comedy, “Netherbeast Incorporatedâ€, a humorous film about vampires set in modern day corporate America. Some other cool genre guests on the slate, too.
- The Quick Stop makes number 5 on OverDugg’s list of top ten filming locations viewed with Google Earth. You may have to skip past an ad to view the actual page.
- SuperMax hysteria has made it to the UK though at least they’re not reporting it as fact. Once again, let’s let the press know - Kevin’s in no way attached to this! We were all just speculating! Sigh.
- With all the casting speculation happening, Video ETA runs down a list of possible actors for the role of Zack in Kev’s next flick. See anyone ya like? Got some other ideas? Let us know.
- We’re not sure who the true author of this article is as we have the same quote on two pieces (unless this is from a press conference), but Seth Rogen recently name-dropped Kevin when discussing his take on “The Green Hornet”
(as Kevin is widely known as having done a draft of the flick at one point). Both Rotten Tomatoes and The Winnipeg Sun have small blurbs on the potential project:-
The Green Hornet property was under Kevin Smith’s banner for a long time: the ultimate comic fanboy wrote a script but decided not to direct it. Rogen will not take the opportunity to read Smith’s draft.
“I’m actually friends with Kevin Smith and he said I probably could read it if I wanted. I don’t want to. I have no interest right now in reading it I would say. At some point.” - With the notion of a “Thor” movie out there, this E! Online article mentions talk of an actor near and dear to us as a good possible fit for the title role:
-
This pretty much has Josh Holloway written all over it,” wrote IceTruckDexter on cinematical.com, while others suggested Matthew McConaughey, Jason Mewes (must be a hair thing), New Zealand-born actor Karl Urban (lately an assassin in The Bourne Supremacy) and, of course, Vincent D’Onofrio, who memorably played a beefy mechanic who was mistaken for Thor in Adventures in Babysitting in 1987.
- The masters of humor over at “The Onion” give some good-natured ribbing to Ben Affleck today in this spoof report — Kevin’s name is also briefly mentioned.
- Cinematical ran an article going over Kevin’s response to the nature of casting changes in Hollywood, and mentions his prom and birthday. Nice piece all in all. A quick bit:
-
According to Smith, Zack and Miri is currently scheduled to begin shooting in January, with pre-production gearing up somewhere around early November. That leaves plenty of time to find a new female lead, and while I adore Dawson just as much as the next guy (I swear, I have dreams about that dance in Clerks 2), there are plenty of other fish in the sea. God, I feel like I’m giving my friend advice after his prom date ditched him at the last minute for a bottle of tequila and a dude with a trust fund. And speaking of proms, Smith also posted a ton of photos from his 37th birthday bash — including pics of his MILF, er, wife, daughter and tons of other partygoers. Happy B-Day Kev, and here’s hoping your belated gift comes in the form of an actress that will totally kill in the role.
Hey, you can certainly respect the guy for wanting to do his own thing.

Video ETAs picks suck. I say it’s Olyphant comedy time… yeah, that’s right. Bullock mustache con p*rno handlebars. He’s all over it.
By the way: WordPress won’t let me use the word p*rno, rhymes with DiGiorno, as in “I could call the pizza guy and we could roll tape on this p*rno, but I screwed up and instead of delivery, it’s DiGiorno.” You might should do something about that.

Wordpress is censoring your comments? Seriously? How’d you get thru it then?

No it just makes you “confirm” when you want to use a dirty word.
