KEVIN Smith doesn’t mind being insulted, as long as it’s funny. The roly-poly “Clerks†director got slammed for his brief role in the summer blockbuster “Live Free or Die Hard†by Boston Globe critic Ty Burr, who called him “increasingly, an indie-cred Muppet for studio movies.†Responds Smith on his Web site: “Any outrage I might’ve mustered evaporated after reading ‘indie-cred Muppet’ - unfair or not, that [bleep]’s funny.†He adds he’s heartened by some positive reviews because, “Nobody wants to be the guy that [bleep]s up ‘Die Hard.’ â€
